Maeva Michiels
Maeva Michiels is a distinguished developer, artist, and designer with a notable portfolio that includes high-profile projects such as the residence of the Ambassador of Saudi Arabia, Baker Georgetown in Cady’s Alley, the residence of Harvey Pitt, and the residence of Mitchell Rales.
Since 2021, Maeva Michiels has expanded her expertise internationally, designing and supervising projects in Mexico. Her proficiency in multiple languages has been instrumental in managing these construction projects and navigating diverse cultural contexts.
In 2013, her design for Chef Frederik DePue's Table restaurant earned acclaim as the Best New Restaurant. Additionally, she was the lead designer for Piola on 14th Street and Il Canale in Georgetown, both renowned international restaurants in Washington, DC.
Since 2010, Maeva Michiels has served as the project coordinator and construction supervisor for the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB) in Haiti and Nicaragua, where she has significantly contributed to improving living conditions in developing countries. Her dedication was particularly evident during her year in Port-Au-Prince, overseeing reconstruction efforts following the 2010 earthquake. In 2006, she led the design of a school campus in Cambodia for ChildED, based in New York.
Since 2003, Maeva Michiels has been a key member of Michiels Partners in Washington, DC, a boutique office specializing in high-end modern construction and restoration of DC homes. She is also a partner and lead developer at Ursula, LLC, a DC-based joint venture focused on modern real estate development. Her career began in Europe and South America, bringing a rich, international perspective to her work.
Maeva Michiels has also shared her expertise as a guest critic and juror at The Catholic University of America and Howard University. She received her architectural training at Saint-Luc Institute in Brussels, graduating with the highest honor, Summa Cum Laude.
